How to Grill a Steak
I’m an old school guy, I use a Charcoal Grill. Charcoal grills makes us guys look manlier. Gas grills are too easy to use. Even a little girl can use a gas grill. Besides, gas grills don’t provide that great flavor that a charcoal grill can, so I don't recommend a grily-man gas grill. First things first, make sure your grill is really hot hot hot. If not, then it will cook long and slow, this also makes the steak really tough and less tendor. Thus, you want the hot grill to char the outside without hardening the inside.
To grill a decent steak; it’s actually quite simple. The key is to only flip the steak once. Flipping a steak more than one time makes it really hard and less tender. Thus, the next key is know when to flip it. This is absolutely essential since you only get one chance to flip the steak. When you flip the steak depends on how you like your steak; such as well done, medium, rare, etc…The amount of blood that seeps out to the top of the steak is a good indicator of when to flip it. The more blood you see, the more cooked the steak is. For example, I prefer my steak to be medium rare. I like mine a little bloody since it has much more flavor this way. When a small amount of blood seeps to the top, the steak is ready to flip. Just a quick side note, a well done steak should be a crime. If you want your steak well done, just don’t eat steak.
After grilling your steak, allow it to set for five minutes before serving to let the juices settle. This will also lock in the flavor so it won't escape.Â

is my gas grill rusted?
just got from a friend an old Char Broil gas grill 9000 series pretty bad shape dont know where to start
If it doesn't burn right take it apart and clean it. I had to turn mine upside down and take the two clips off and take the burner out. I ran water through it and cleaned all the rust out of the pipe and now it runs like new. It was burning with a yellow flame. It should burn with mostly blue with just a little yellow.
